The Food Technology Department was established on 24th March 2020 with the mission of advancing knowledge and innovation in the field of food science and technology. The department’s program perspectives focus on providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the principles, techniques, and applications of food science and technology, as well as fostering a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
The Food Technology Department has achieved numerous accomplishments since its establishment. These include:
1. Developing and implementing innovative food processing technologies to improve food safety, quality, and shelf life.
2. Conduct groundbreaking research in areas such as food microbiology, nutrition, and sensory science to advance the understanding of food systems and improve food product development.
3. Collaborating with industry partners such as Meira Food on 11 0f June 2022 to develop and commercialize new food products, processes, and packaging solutions.
4. Organizing workshops, conferences, and symposia to promote knowledge sharing, networking, and professional development among food scientists and technologists such as
a) Awarded second prize winner in Food stall Exhibition during workshop cum exhibition of Innovation organized by CAU, Lamphelpat on July 20-21,2024.
